Today we went to the fire station for our playgroup outing. We got to go on a tour of the station. They showed us where the fire fighters sleep at night, and what they did if there was a fire call while they are sleeping. The firefighters leave their boots and fire uniform pants right by there bed and quickly jump into them if there is an emergency call. It was quite impressive how quickly they can get ready and out to the fire truck. While we were there, they got a call to go help a lady who had fallen and hurt herself. So we got to see the fire truck leave the station and return a few minutes later. One of the fireman dressed in his full fire gear and let the kids come up and see him. Riley kept asking when she got to sit in the truck. Near the end, all the kids got to get up in the truck and sit in the passenger seat. Then they left with a coloring book, a junior fire fighter sticker, and a plastic fire hat!
