We celebrated Riley's 3rd birthday on Tuesday. It's so hard to believe she is three already. As she is saying, "I'm big now!". She got some wonderful gifts on Tuesday that she has been enjoying all week. She wore her new princess dress up outfit out to Costco the next day (princess heels and all) and then she took her new monkey bag to her friend Avery's house filled with all sorts of toys she wanted to play with. Riley and I also got some quiet time yesterday to try out her new leappad.
Now that she is three she is looking forward to starting preschool on August 18th, and she wants to take a ballet class. She is so excited to start preschool and everyday when we drive by the school she announces, "There's my preschool." Her teacher is coming to visit her next Friday. The school does home visits prior to the first day of school so that the kids will recognize their new teacher and feel more comfortable during the transition time. I don't think Riley is going to have any difficulty transitioning to preschool.
On Saturday she is having her official birthday party with friends and family at a neighborhood park. Each time we've gone to a park this week she has asked if we're going to her party. Saturday seems so far away to her.
At three, Riley is very verbal and talks all the time. She now has very few tantrums and instead is asking with pleases & thank yous. It is so nice to see all the effort we have put into using words to explain things (calmly) is finally paying off. We are so blessed to have such a happy, kind, and beautiful daughter. In the last year, she has grown so much and I know this year will bring many changes too. We're so excited to continue to watch her grow.
