It's been a while...

So it's been a while since I've updated this.... We had a wonderful Mothers' Day in Bodega. It was such a beautiful weekend out at the ocean, we were able to hang out by the pool. My Mom came down for the week and got to spend some more time with the girls and we even got a few plants planted in our backyard! Now if only I can keep them alive. It was so nice to have my Mom down to visit, the girls really enjoy getting to spend time with her and so do I.

Reagan recently went in for her 18 month checkup. She now weighs 23 lbs. 7.8 oz (in the 39th percentile for weight), is 2' 5.92" (in the 10th percentile for height), and her head circumference is 19.29" (in the 97th percentile). She definitely got her Daddy's head! These reading were not a surprise as she is quite petite, but has always had a big head, that we lovingly call a "bucket" head. It's hard to believe she is 18 months already. She is a very happy cuddly toddler. She has just started blowing kisses which is quite adorable, and she is talking up a storm. I started counting how many words she is saying the other day and I have a list of over 50 words going. Some of her favorites are: no, tik tik (tickle tickle), all done, cheese (while she holds up the toy camera to her face), and dink (drink).

Riley hasn't had to go in for a regular check up recently, but we did have to take her in to get her ears checked. All of a sudden she was having difficulty hearing us. At first, I thought she was just ignoring me in her 3 1/2 year old way. But after a day or so, I noticed that she really was trying to listen and spending a lot of time looking at our lips to figure out what we were saying. I called Kaiser, and they said I could take her into the hearing specialist or start with her doctor. So we headed in to her doctor and came to find out she had double ear infections. I was quite surprised since she didn't seem to have any pain. Though I was happy to know there wasn't anything permanently wrong with her hearing. After a few days of medicine, her hearing has returned to normal. At this visit she was weighed and was 36 lbs 9.6 oz. and according to our at home measurements, she is now 3' 3.5" tall.

Below are a few pictures from recent events. I have more on the camera from the Rose Parade last weekend that I will try and post in the next few days. (Riley's ballet class walked in the parade.)
