Today we celebrated Riley's 5th birthday. I've spent the day looking at her and wondering how she has grown so big already. It seems like it wasn't that long ago that we brought our tiny little baby home from the hospital.
She started her birthday celebrations yesterday by going to lunch and shopping with grandma. She came home with some wonderful selections including her newest doll Sophia. She so enjoyed her special time with Poppy Grandma :) Today Grandma Colette took the four of us out for lunch and more shopping. She wanted to find some shoes and now has a fabulous shoe collection to start the school year with. (she loves her shoes already....I think we're in trouble when she's a teenager) Grandma also snuck off and bought her a doll specially made for Riley to do her hair. She spent her final minutes before bed tonight doing the dolls hair. Tonight, much of the extended family came to celebrate with her. She played tag and hide and seek with her aunt, uncle, and cousins, had a nice dinner with everyone, enjoyed a big slice of cake, and opened more presents. Grandma, Grandpa, Aunties, and Uncle got her some fabulous new clothes that she has all set up to wear tomorrow. And Uncle Dave, Auntie Kim, Zacky and Jakey got her a wonderful jewelry box with a little ballerina who spins and plays music when the box is open. She and Reagan fell asleep tonight listening to the music box play them music. Thanks to all of you. She truly appreciates each gift she was given and was even happier that you were here to play and spend time with her.
