Red Shoes

Today Riley was invited to a birthday party for one of her friends. On our way home from playgroup we were talking about the party. Riley said, "When I turn 3 do I get a party?" I said yes. Then she said, "I'd like to get red shoes for my party." We hadn't been talking about shoes at all, but that is so Riley. She loves shoes. I can hardly wait to see her shoe collection when she's an adult. I imagine it is going to be fantastic. It's amazing to me that at such a young age she displays such "girl" likes and dislikes. Some things really do seem to be hard wired into us.

She is also looking forward to her 3rd birthday because she will start preschool at The First Presbyterian Preschool near our house. Everyday, when we go by it she says, "When I turn three, I get to go to preschool." And at three she will be old enough for a ballet class. We read a story Nina Ballerina several months ago. Ever since then, she has wanted to take ballet class. And of course she wants to get a leotard, tutu, and ballet shoes. She already practices her ballet moves.

She has such a wonderful and lively personality. Every day she brings a smile to my face simply by being her cute wonderful self.

Riley poses in many of her favorite shoes!
